Japanese Import
Discussion
If it's a UK available model, I'm surprised you're having a lot of trouble selling it if the car is in good condition.
Sometimes if a car is the cheapest one of a particular model, it can make people suspicious and thus hinder chances of a sale. If it is a older/ lower value car, ebay may be a good option (especially given how popular smaller engined reliable cars are ATM).

Do you 'have' to mention the fact it's an import when advertising? How much difference does it make? Genuine question, mate had an import FTO and the only issue was a weird double DIN head unit which didn't seem to work properly, others have had JDM Imprezas and the like and they seem to be better & faster than the UK equivalents.

Just the fact insurance is double expensive on imports . A young person could easily have to pay 2-300 quid extra a year to insure an import . Who would want to do that ? frosted said:

That can't be true surely? For one thing, if the car has been MOTed and SVAd, and as in this case is an existing UK model, what difference does country of first registration make? For another thing, if imports do cost more to insure, how is it that pretty much everyone on PH is able to insure their MR2 Turbo or Eunos roadster for bugger all? Then again, it is the insurance industry you're dealing with...

I am advertising it as a Japanese Import as do not want to keep people in dark..!
It seems there is general hesitation about Import cars..!
It’s a UK spec car and we didn't pay any extra insurance premium when got it insured (£520 with 2 years on no claim) and we declared it as Import vehicle to insurance company..!
Mileage - Not very high, in fact low for the age, there is service history (albeit in Japanese), Mot – even offering new MOT to genuine buyer.
Advertised on Yaris Club now, hopefully there will buyer for It.!

Seems like you are doing everything ok then, might just need time I would guess as its not the most petrol headed car that people are still uninformed about importsIt seems there is general hesitation about Import cars..!

Not taking the piss but have you got quotes from WBAC or We will buy your car?
They are owned/operated by the car supermarkets and for things that fit their stock well (like a Yaris) they can actually pay OK prices
Hora - Just posted on the http://www.yarisclubuk.com/ under Cars for sale section.
Do not really want to post the direct link as it might break the rules of this forum and it seems like a wonderful community.
Car looks nice, decent advert too (but best to avoid use of block capitals). Price may be a touch high though - have a search on autotrader for automatic Toyota Yarises (Yari?). There are some UK cars for less £ with similar age and only slightly higher miles. May be worth considering a couple of hundred pounds off the price for a speedy sale.

Don't know anything about the Yaris but how can it be UK spec if it's a Japanese import? It seems there is general hesitation about Import cars..!

Thanks Codswallop – Will Put the price as Negotiable.
When I look on Autotrader for almost 100 Miles area around me – there is only 6 cars advertised for 2004 or later and under 4K , the nearest to my car is around 1K higher then my asking price.
However the cars with 3 doors, 1.0 l engine or Manual Gearbox are certainly advertised near to my asking prices.
