Taking Private Plate Off

Hi All, I've bought a new car and cant wait to pick it up 
(astra vxr)but the dealer had just got it in the day before I bought it, it was on a private plate but the dealer is in the process of putting the car back on the original plate.
Just wondering how long this should or can take as I would like to pick the car up as soon as possible?, he said hopefully by monday.
