Well I finally did it, finally got rid of the old Yamaha gear (RXV3800 & DVD-S2700 for sale)

Got myself these Pioneer units VSX-LX53 and a BDP-LX55

Now can anyone help with a little problem I seem to have?

When playing BluRays, CDs, DVD-Audio discs no issues but,

When playing bought SACD discs (in this case Peter Gabriel's UP) it doesn't want to know

If I play a SACD sampler from Kef it plays perfectly, and if I then pug the PG SACD in
for about half a second it works and then stops, could it be some weird copy protection that's
on that particular disc, or is there a simpler explanation?

Mark.

Can't help with the problems, but PM me about the stuff for sale?
I need to check the spec, but in the market.

Loving the Marantz K-63 signature edition you have stashed at the bottom of the stack smile I couldnt bear to part with mine either -still makes a lovely sound despite its age.

Do you get any problems with heat soak in that cabinet or is it open front/open back ? (and if so does this allow enough airflow?)

You don't have enough space around that Pioneer to keep it cool enough...

(not that this will help with your original problem)

If you look at the pic then you'll notice what looks like a double
Top, it isn't the lower piece is just a frame, there's at least 5cm
Above the amp and 7cm to each side. The previous 5 Yammy amps
(DSP-A1000, DSP-A3090, DSP-A1, DSP-AX1 and RXV3800)
Have all lived in the same location without any heating/ventilation
Issues, so I'm expecting no real issues with the Pioneer, also the entire
Rear of the cabinet is open.
I deliberately didn't go for an Onkyo that was on my shortlist
As I knew it ran very hot.

Had a bit more of a play this morning and it does sound excellent

N.B. just finished watching X-Men First Class, which was enjoyed at reference levels
and the amp was cool to the touch at the end of the film...

The CD63KI is still a fabulous player, but my favourite from the era is the Pioneer PDS904, but I haven't seen one for years!
