Hi all, Quick query to the collective. I am travelling into London tomorrow on a flying visit. I am coming down the M1 in the morning. I have a meeting near Moorgate Tube at 12 for a couple of hours and I will then need to drive on to the Worthing area for the weekend. Don't really want to drive in the city centre, so I need suggestions where to park safely to get the tube into Moorgate with the minimum of fuss.

Any ideas gang?

Last time I did something similar I parked at The Chimes multi story at Uxbridge and took the Tube into Central London. That would give you a decent quick run from the M25 and back out again to head south.

Just to add, I think Moorgate and Uxbridge are both on the Metropolitan line.

Brent Cross tube station has a car park, its near junction 1 of the M1, and on the same (Northern) tube line as Moorgate.
More info here.

You could park near me - I'm a few mins from the A1, and I have a load of street parking vouchers. Always loads of spaces by the covered reservoir (here: http://g.co/maps/tyypf ) which is the edge of Crouch End A that I have vouchers for. It's a 5 min walk from there to Harringay overground station. It's 16 mins train ride to Moorgate, even in the middle of the day there's a train every 10 mins.

Getting to Worthing is a PITA though, either back up the A1, North Circ, A40, M25 - or head the other way to Blackwall Tunnel, A2, M25.

I'd probably go with this tbh. Then around the North Circ when you get back out again.

Another vote for Uxbridge here; It's a really easy drive in from the M25, three minutes from the car park to the tube, and then straight into town.

Thanks guys. I went for this option in the end. got my head around the text payment for parking and relatively painless tube trip. Now have a couple of hours to kill, so waiting for the MoL to open. Thanks again...
