McLaren Visit

Most of us owners have visited the Ultima Factory (either on the open day or with our cheque book).
However, I wonder if we could use the fact that 2 Ultima chassis were used to test components for the Mclaren F1 of the 1990's as an "in" to get a guided tour of the McLaren centre for current Ultima owners.

It would probably need some Factory involvement to help convince McLaren to host us and we would want to arrive in an Ultima model.

It is not easy to get a tour of these factories. Lamborghini are very accommodating (I have had a guided tour of their museum and factory) but Ferrari insist you are an owner.

Is there any interest from other owners? You never know, you may be a buyer of either a new MP4-12C (lottery win or business boom permitting), or a used one(lottery win or business boom permitting), in the future!

Well that idea fell flat on it's face!!!!

I have to say I am a little surprised that no other Ultima owners/builders would find a visit to the UK's premier automotive factory interesting.

I would be interested, I'll have to check with Andy though as its his car!

Come on people this would be really interesting, I saw a really interesting documentary on the factory not that long ago and it was fascinating.

Doubt that it will be easy.
They weren't very accommodating when I was ready to drop a deposit on a 12c.

I have looked around a number of factories but I suspect this would be rather special.

Timing would have to depend on Mclaren I suspect, but we would need a reasonable number of Ultima owners wishing to go. It would be embarrassing to turn up with half a dozen!!!
