OK So how many miles then,
I had same shape 16V on a K plate ! Bril car

Looks lovely and in great shape as far as you can tell from the pics.
Dare I ask how much you paid for it and where you found it for such an impulse buy? You're going to tell me it's been used by an old person and only done a couple of k a year and you got it dirt cheap aren't you.... Lucky sod either way! I had a mk2 8v and it was one of the most fun handling cars I've ever owned.

Seeing as Paul hasn't yet been back to answer the mileage question, I will quote his response to that very question I asked on Facebook: "oh only a couple of hundred", after describing the mileage as "Intergalactic".

194k..... picked up for 2 and a bit.... pretty straight...needs a bit of work but has fresh MOT and I'll run it daily for a couple of years before a more thorough restoration to include paint, engine etc - takes me back, and despite leisurely performance it's tremendous fun
