Good home needed for horse
Discussion
Can anyone help?

Failing that, names of rescue centres, etc?
We'd rather have him shot than end up in the hands of the 'wrong sorts'.
It's all desperately sad since he's a good horse and a lovely boy. Just that with the economic downturn there are literally 1,000's of horses for sale...

Probably an obvious question MC, but have you advertised in H&H or at your local tac shops?
My mum is trying to sell at the mo, based in Berks and regrettably no genuine sniffs this year on a lovely Thoroughbred, Welsh X.
She is considering a long term loan, as it seems to be the only way at the mo.

Yes - he's advertised on the British Dressage website, but there are 100 horses for sale on there alone, and 1,000 for sale over at Horse & Hound. My mum is trying to sell at the mo, based in Berks and regrettably no genuine sniffs this year on a lovely Thoroughbred, Welsh X.

I hear that due to the Irish economy tanking, they're giving horses away there. Not good...
If you really want him to go to a good home then maybe put him out on loan, there are some great horsey people who can not afford the outlay of 3k, they could take him for a few years, pay costs etc and maybe buy at later date or you could take him back and he will have been, backed, trained, competed etc, then sell him or you may want to keep him.
We have two out on loan, could not bear to sell them, plus as you mentioned nobody is buying at the moment, being on loan works really well for us.
