talking to a AM dealer about the DB9 2007MY which had the buttons on the Stearing wheel which he said works only a handfree phone not the radio. Reading the AM bible it indicates the SW buttons do also work the radio as well. Do they or not? Seems strange to me that they wouldnt work the radio. Does a 09MY differ?

Mine only work on the telephone, and not the radio, seems a bit strange.

Hi James, if you check the model year changes for DB9, you will see audio controls were added from the 2008MY onwards along with IPod/USB connection etc. Hope this helps smile

Just phone functions pre 08, after that you can change audio tracks and adjust the volume via the wheel.

Thank you.

Sounds like a 08MY + will be the sensible option for me with the mirarade of changes - just need to save/wait for the prices to come down a bit.

Incorrect. My MY06 DB9 steering wheel buttons control the audio in addition to the phone.

Says in the Manual that in 2008 a key change was the Steering Wheel Audio Controls - updated from the previous bluetooth system smile

Could this be a function of which Linn system is installed, or an option, or maybe US vs UK differences? All I know is that the buttons on the wheels control the station selection and volume in addition to the bluetooth. This is for a Linn 950W system.

Quite possibly - 2008 saw the branded 700w system become standard, with all previous Linn audio options no longer available.

The Manual states if a feature is explicit to the US - in this case it was not smile

Burntout - u is hijacking a DB9 thread man !!

Unfortunately for you matey, one of the 2008 Vantage upgrades was the improved bluetooth system, whereby more models of phones were recognised - even then it was only optional.

I suppose you could ask about upgrading your bluetooth - or downgrading your phone ?? smile

Burntout, I have an 06 Vantage with factory fitted Bluetooth. It works perfectly with an iPhone 3GS and 4S. Took a few attempts to pair, seems you have to time the pairing in a certain way. Give it a few more attempts, sure it'll work eventually.

Do you mean the volume of the phone Bluetooth speaker via the audio (which it should do) or that you can actually change audio tracks and alter the volume of the stereo even when not using the phone?

Yes mate! From a previous thread:-

For anyone still having problems this is how to do it (I was using an iphone 4S on a 2006 Vantage):-
Put the iphone Bluetooth into search mode.
Tell the car - Pair phone
Car tells you to put phone into search mode and then type 1 2 3 4 as the bluetooth code.
Phone will see the car - will list as Aston Martin. Put code in
It will then fail! Car says pairing failed.
But you now have the iphone recognising the Aston Martin bluetooth, so on the phone, select "Aston Martin" on the bluetooth menu. It will bring up the boxes to put in the passcode. Put in 1 2 3 4, but do NOT press pair on the phone yet.
Tell the car - pair phone. Then immediatley press the Pair button (top right) on the phone.
Should then pair straght away.
Have checked and phone is always then recognised on startup
