I'm getting seriously hacked off. As soon as I try to buy a car from here, (I'm in Sudan at the moment) the garages stop trying to sell me ANYTHING!!! I wanted a SAAB, Volvo or Audi. As soon as I contact the garages...nothing.

It has to seat 3, I don't want to spend much. I will only use it for up to five weeks then give it away.

So suggestions, recommendations, budget about £1000.

I'll be back in the UK on 16th April and need something almost immediately, but can wait up to a week.

sorry I would have replied sooner but was overseas myself!

For that price range you could probably get a half decent renault megane convertible, a Saab 900 S convertible (mid 90's), a ford escort convertible, possibly a BMW E36 convertible.

if you want to give it away after I can think of a worthy home wink lol

good luck

I had an E36 318i. Slow as hell, but great for cruising around. Ample space, and a good looker. Buy in condition and it should be reliable.

Just look on Autotrader.
Set the filter for under £1000, convertible.
Pug 306, Punto, Escort, BMW.

I can’t imagine anyone will be interested in selling to you while you are overseas, there are too many scammers.
And at that price it’ll be a rare person who will take a deposit and keep it for you.

Your best bet (IMO) is to look at autotrader the day you arrive in the UK and go and buy the closest car to you.
