Right following on from my last question. Having decided to sell the beast after 9 years. What's it worth in todays market?
92 car, solid and standard apart from Cosworth brakes. I just took some pictures after getting her out of the garage.

I was thinking around £4K sound right

Have a look in the classifieds. That seems at least 2k too cheap for a sound example, even if it is an early car.

£4k?

That is rotten outrigger territory..............

Too bloody cheap, but will sell instantly at that price if it is as good as it looks in the pics.

As above, I would have thought more like 5-6k

If you got it through the MOT I would have though £6k wouldn't be far off.

No it's not rotten it's a genuine car but if I decide to MOT it I need to insure & tax it etc & with the market the way it is I'd rather it sell quickly to a good home.
Anyone who knows about these will be able to see very quickly that it's sound & no MOT means I won't have to ponce about with wanna be's and test pilots!

Here's anothe couple of pictures

I would suspect most people would have it up for £5-6k and probably accept £5kish. Depends on condition of course but also how quickly you want to shift it.. Seen another TVR have we!

i agree 5-6k.
When I was looking last year the earlier model didn't put me off so don't drop the price too much. I did, and think others might, rather get a good condition early model than a tatty later model

Suppose I'll have to spend a bit then. I know what will happen though. As soon as it's on the road I'll want to start using it, then I won't want to sell it, then the wife won't get her kitchen so she'll divorce me. I'll lose the house, never see the kids again.......................

You can only sell it once so you need to get as much for is as poss. I'd assume. It looks a very nice car and if there's nothing wrong with it then spending 40 odd quid on an MOT just seems like a no brainer to me..............40 quid = 2k I am thinking here.

Ebay is full of cars where the owner has what looks a a nice car but says he can't MOT it due to time, or " it won't start but it only needs a battery"..........why not buy the battery or MOT it then? so you can ask full up.

People including me avoid those adverts like the plague, not because I'm incapable of fixing a fault or two...........simply because I smell a rat and can't fathom why the owner has not spent a few pence to get the car right.

As I say, IMHO the car looks great and wouldn't look daft at 6.5k on PH, however without an MOT your figure of 4k is nearer the mark................get the bloody ticket on it and the summer hols are paid forbeer

Yes so do I! TBH I hadn't thought it might be worth that much. I'll sort out some ins and get it MOT'd. It's on SORN now. If can it stay on that for the journy to the MOT and afterwards or will I have to tax it too?

No you can drive car to a pre booked MOT without tax.

I almost bought a very simailar car to yours before I got mine a year younger and same colour, the interior in yours looks far better though. It was advertised at £6.5 and owner was going to let go to me at £6k

And its more likley to go to a good home at 6k than 4 as the very cheap ones are being snapped up by people who just want to rag them silly and not care for it.

Price it reasonably and it will soon sell easy enough, maybe just by this thread, I found mine when Kenny above let me know he was selling when I was looking, saved him paying all the adverts and timewasters, and saved me the hassle of seeing even more cars not as described.

Well I'll stand by the £4k offer for a few days until I've paid out for the ins & mot. If anyone is SERIOUS about buying it let me know.
