Discussion
Had my car stolen Monday 10 April 2012 really gutted is a bmw 520d msport. It is gun metal grey with tints with only 23000 miles on the clock. It was stolen outside my house in Leyton east London . Have only owned this car for a few months and would be grateful if anyone have seen it around or any news. It right day light angels are not working and also has a red mark on the right rear panels. What makes this worse is I have both sets of keys. Hope it hasn't been stripped was such a nice car.

This could be pretty serious for BMW. Probably cheaper versions about too, I found that within a few minutes. Will this work even when the car is locked or does the car have to be opened (or jammed when the user locks it so never locked in the first place).
To think I laugh when people fit steering wheel locks to modern cars, may have to fit one to the Mini now.

ATM the belief if they only need gain access into the car. After that, consider the car gone. This could be pretty serious for BMW. Will this work even when the car is locked or does the car have to be opened (or jammed when the user locks it so never locked in the first place).

So for example brick through the window job done? Crazy if true. I would have thought that the imobilliser jams on when the car is locked remotely??Edited by Jon999 on Saturday 14th April 22:08
On 20th March (2012), we too had our pride and joy, a 335i, stolen from our house in East London at around 10.30pm...what makes it worse is we also have both sets of our keys still!!
Absolutely gutted - 57 plate, twin turbo, 30k mileage, sparkling graphite, Dakota cream leather interior, sat nav.. all the trimmings of a dream car.
There was no sign of broken glass, no alarm sounded and no immobiliser activated. BMW is as much to blame as the thieving ***** that have taken our pride and joy!

What is new is how easily available these devices have become.

Gutted for you. I now put Disklok on my pride and joys. Yes it is clumsy and takes an extra 2 minute every time I get in/out of the car. Little short of a flat bed truck they are not going to be able to steal it. This is the length I have to go to after robber broke into the house for the Lexus keys.
