I'm more interested to hear what a "soft-turbo" car is. Presumably they mean a small turbo running at a low boost pressure to make it feel like an NA car rather than a high pressure "on or off" kind of system.

I don't think they're rubbish, definitely a place for them, but price/value would need to be a main point over something like an St220

theyre not a bad car, had one as a company car for a couple of years, updated it to a 2.2 sri which while being nothing "special" was competent at everything and never let me down in the 3 years I ran it, as was the case with the model in question.

I like mine, the Z20NET is a good engine, although I can't better 32mpg.

Go for the full fat version, neatly slotted under a Saab 9-3 Aero bonnet and proceed to the BSR website and purchase a PPC module which will give you 250 ish bhp in a better looking, better handling package.

My dad had one back in about 2005, epic cars, loads of space, practical and quick.

I loved it, he moved onto a saab 93 (vector iirc) which was supposed to be the same car underneath, kept it for 3 months, in his opinion wasn't a patch on the vectra!
