I have had my cerbera for about three years now, and i have always had a problem with fith gear.It can crunch if i change up to quickly, i have not worried about this, as i seldem use fith unless i am on a motorway. If you slow your change it doesn't crunch. I was speaking to a guy with a Tamora and he said he had the same problem, am i looking at a rebuild.

All most certainly synchromesh is shot, will require repair though not a full rebuild if thats all that needs addressing.

But 5th is weak/prone to break, if you're having it out for work, you should definitely consider the Quaife big gear conversion. Might be false economy otherwise. Andy at APM can advise you, I would give him a call.

I would change the AFT for the best you can find, that may help a little too.

Hi Nick, quite interested in what this involves and the benefits...?

After lending my Cerb out to my neighbour for his wedding it has come back minus 5th gear... No noise or issues with the other 4, just no 5th... Like going into neutral... I have been told the cog can move on the shaft...

Either way the box has to come out and would love to do it myself if poss...

Thanks Rich
