Apologies in advance, this is not the most exciting of threads, but I need a bit of quick advice on a probem with the Wife's 2006 Honda Jazz (44k miles)

There is an intermittent problem with the front passenger side wheel. When driving there is a short, repetitive squeak as the wheel turns, linked to wheel speed. No change if the car is in neutral and doesn't happen when turning right and stops when braking. Brake performance feels ok.

It may be a wheel bearing problem, but could it be something else (hopefully less expensive)?

Its booked into a local garage on Tuesday, but it would be good to get a heads up on the issue before they report back.

Thanks

Would also be interested to know the answer to this as my Civic does similar as of the last few weeks, a squeak related to wheel speed, mainly audible when driving at 30mph after coming out of a faster section. My brakes are good, not linked to steering, throttle or gear input. It sounds like something catching as the wheel turns, the noise is like that of a bird tweeting, it's bloody annoying!

I did get an advisory on my last MOT in January for something like "suspension bush on front passenger side wheel perished, not causing excessive movement", so it might be related to that. Full polybushing all round!

Sounds very similar. Its intermittent, lasting around 15 minutes, sometimes from cold, sometimes from warm.
