Performance car for a teenager #3
Discussion
I apologise if your getting bored of this, but i really appreciatte all the help im getting!
So i started out thinking about a fiesta zetec s. then i moved onto a corsa sri!, moving off of that, taken into consideration of all i have been told, I want an MR2 mrk2.
Now ive been told i need to think outside the box, i can get insured if I find the right broker!
BUT.....
is that really possible?
Were do i go if i want insurance on an MR2? I'd like classic insurance - i could easily reduce my milage to 6k a year, and i definately think the MR2 mrk 2 should be counted as a classic, its just everyone tells me I need to be a certain age to get the classic car discount! im 19 by the way if you havent seen the previous threads.
I'm not asking for advice on what car to get anymore,i dont care if you hate the MR2, i just want to know where you all get your classics insured, especially you teenagers and early 20's in the same boat as me!
Thanks in advance

Do you not know how to find your old threads? Why didn't you just continue an old thread instead of starting a new one for every query or change of mind you have?
It would also make it a bit easier for the people spending time trying to help you to keep track of your ever changing thought processes

Wind your neck in and stick with a normal car for a19 year old.
Save the 3k insurance premiums for when you can realistically run a decent car instead of a old banger.
It's just not worth it in the long run cos no one will think you are cool in an old mr2 and you'll look back and think what an idiot you were throwing cash around for nothing

Yes this money is much better spent on drink and drugs. Having driving and cars as a hobby is so uncool. Save the 3k insurance premiums for when you can realistically run a decent car instead of a old banger.

Supposing he actually enjoyed driving it??? Just a thought.Save the 3k insurance premiums for when you can realistically run a decent car instead of a old banger.

I do its just after a while they become stale and full of people arguing with each other about a certain comment nothing to do with the topic. So i start a fresh. It would also make it a bit easier for the people spending time trying to help you to keep track of your ever changing thought processes

R8 joke yes sorry, thread a while ago caused a stir some 19 year old who ran severall business' was asking how to get a quote, something about not knowing what a telephone is..
I've not tired a quote on a MR2 and know little about them to have an idea of insurance, but maybe something fwd would be better suited, insurers prefer this for us youths.. ? Celica maybe?

yes i like the celicas also, are they not rediculous aswell. the reason i went onto an mr2 is because a few youths on here had one and werent charged an arm and a leg either. Yes, he insisted that the PH thread should be locked/deleted, but he also posted on an Audi forum:http://audisrs.com/ftopic33006-0-asc-0.php
Looks like he still hasn't got an R8!
You're best to get a copy of Practical Classics magazine and start actually calling insurance companies. As a rule, a lot want you to be 21 or 25 so won't even quote online, but you'll do better if you ring and talk to them. I think 15 years is generally the threshold for classic cars.
I insured a 20 year old 911 fully comp for £700 when I was 22
with Lancaster.
