OPC vs Independent

I have a Boxster S (2000) that is due for its 48k service.
Up till now its got full OPC stamps but I'm wondering whether its worth continuing given the cost differential, but more importantly the shocking tales of OPC service standards.
I want to know the job has been done right not just get the stamp for the sake of it.
The other added factor is that its currently under OPC warranty which is due to expire about the time of the service. It will also need an MOT as well.
I was wondering what people's views are and would welcome some tips of suitable independents in SW London.

How long do you intend to keep the car? If it's less than a year you might want to carry on using OPC as some buyers might shy away from stamps from an independent.
You also have the option of getting the service & book stamped by OPC and then doing any major work by an independent.
Personally, I would use a trusted independent if out of warranty.

the obvious thing is to compare the cost difference, between OPC and independent. Porsche are cheap to service so I would personally use te OPC.
You do restrict resale if its not got a FPSH.
You can renew your warranty then also, which was pretty useful to a friend when his 45k boxster did its gearbox!!
