Hi there,

My understanding is that it's variable miles but every 2 years. I have found a car that the last service was 3 years ago. However a year ago it was purchased as a BMW AUC, so cannot imagine they would send it without at least an oil change as it would of been due by time.

Any ideas and would 3 years be a big problem? I hope they have done and oil service and just not stamped the book as saw 4 cars yesterday and want to pick this example up tomorrow.

Cheers in advance!

Summary of a march 2007 car

Miles done 22k
Run in service done at 1022
First service 2009 and 10k ish

These are on the Oil - Insp 1 - Oil - Insp 2 service routine, so it would seem to be due an Insp 1 whether or not it had an oil change last year.

It probably also needs brake fluid changing, unless there's evidence that's been done in the last two years?

I'd use it as a bargaining point rather than a deal-breaker, unless of course you want to buy a BMW warranty for it, in which case its probably best to check with BMW whether the gap in history would be a problem.

Check that is has been done BEFORE you hand over any cash or sign to accept it, as you may find out later that your AUC warranty is null & void due to the car not being serviced properly. You'll also have issues buying/claiming on a BMW Insured warranty, and a future potential buyer may walk if they find this out.

BMW AUC us supposed to have lots of checks & assurances, but we're hearing of more and more instances when AUC cars have not been serviced correctly, have non-approved parts on (wheels/tyres/mods).

They'll happily sell you it, but will do bugger all to help down the line.

Cheers guys, pretty bad from BMW point of view. Saw a AUC car and it was running cheap tyres, not a good sign.
