Spider Refurb.

Can anyone tell me what the paint make up on the Spiders is as i've been told its a plastic finish, and, how much of a job is it for a complete referb and new paint job,have to say mine have a few scuffs but not too bad, just fancy a smarten up.anyone on here had their's done.

Hi, they are just a normal painted wheel. I refurb wheels for a living, about 60 quid a wheel all in should get you a decent job.

Its a straight forward & nothing special about materials. Most of the wheel referb round Yorkshire are noramlly £50inc & they'll come to your house. I us a a local guy in Wakefield at £50 inc p.w or powder coating £35 but thats mates rates!

What do you do to retain the TVR logo or is it just lost?

For the TVR decals there is normally someone selling them on eBay or the classifieds on here

I'm considering a change to Shadow Chrome in the next week or so, been quoted £55 per wheel standard or £75 a wheel s/chrome, done by Powers bodyshop (or their preferred wheel man at least)

Hi Ken,

Mines booked into surface design and DC Trim later in the year for a full body respray and full interior retrim. My Tams going home to meet it's maker Thinking of changing the colour to to either Spectraflair Silver or reflex blue.

I've seen them. Do people stick them on after or get them stuck on the wheel then lacquered?

I haven't looked but presume they are self adhesive and applied with water ala air fix style.


Need to get a new wheel after the weekends driving.

Blimey, that must have been quite a pothole you hit. Incredibly, it looks like the tyre didn't suffer though, or did it?
I've just bought a pair of brand new 18" fronts for mine (on special offer at Power), but I've only needed one of them to replace one slightly out of round. If anybody needs one let me know. I can always bring it down to Chatsworth with me.

Tyre looks ok from the outside, but the wife (mrs pitstop) drove for a mile or so before she could stop, the side wall is probably gone on the inside

Ahem! The pot hole was about 4 inches deep, needless to say the council are getting a strongly worded letter & a bill for the damage. I couldn't stop safely because of the road we were on, I'd rather ruin a tyre than get rear-ended on a bend!
