Just got back from my first drive with Megasquirt. What a difference. Gone is all the shunting. It will now travel at 20 MPH on the flat in 5th gear without shunting and pull away smoothly. Power wise it picked up 9bhp but it is now a pleasure to drive in traffic and not an ordeal. Well done Dale of Bailey Performance.

Dales a top bloke. Did you pick up the 9 bhp on his rollers or from a power run elsewhere?

On Dales rollers so a fair comparison. Did a power run before fitting and after removing the pre cats and fitting the Megasquirt. Hoping for more MPG as well and will report on that at a later date.

Can't comment on fuel consumption (as it was pretty good already) but i have reduced the shunting next to nothing and have a fatter mid-range and top end as improved since installing wink enjoy driving you running dizzy or coil packs?

Hi mate, can i ask exactly what you installed and if you don't mind cost (or could PM me that?).
As mines seems to be turning into a rebuild I'm tempted just to get a MS now as I know i'm going to eventually.....

The shunting has not been cured just masked.. Connect the laptop and watch the dot you will find the AFR very rich ,only problem it guzzles fuel..

Be careful re: increased fuel consumption. Fuel washing the bores = increased wear.

You just had a tad more fuel around the lurch area maybe 13.0 ish A/F ratio 4% CO approx and pull back on the advance in that very light load/off throttle area, you should be no where near bore washing A/F ratio's scratchchin you don't need anything like that much fuel to mask that area wink no responsibility taken if your still using the Cat frown

See the AFR graphs in the third post down on this thread:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=924...

Mark Adams has been putting a bit of extra fuel in at 1800rpm for years.

And Pupps post in that link describes why we need the masking in that area.
