The contrasting colours of the rape seed fields and blue sky make for a great pic. I’m a sucker for a lone tree too
. I have my eye on a local rape seed field and small copse near me too. The suns shining so may go and have a go tonight. Thanks for the inspiration.
Well don't outclass me if you do....

Agreed, got my eye on a very photogenic one near me, has two lone unusual looking trees that are quite large.

Just got to wait for the right conditions!
well this was the result of my wandering through rapefields inspired by this thread. Not quite what i went out to get, but made the most of the muted lighting caused by haziness.

I have to say that’s the worst unfunny pun intended title I have ever read ....
Surely you could have done something better than that ??
+1, sometimes it seems this kind of distasteful 'humour' is becoming commonplace on PH, glad I'm not the only one put off by it ...Surely you could have done something better than that ??

I'm sure someone will now tell me to get off my high-horse and that PH has always been like that, but usually the photo forum is a rather more civilised place

Just out of interest, what your right to roam in terms of farmer's fields these days? I feel I ought to know but worth me asking as I fancy traipsing around a few fields myself but a lot around here are quite thoroughly fenced in rather than obvious rights of way.
Farmers fields = private property, so you're not allowed on them ( ger'off my land. etc. ) But most farms have footpaths/bridleways running through them which is obviously fine. I do apologise if I have offended anyone's sensibilities. Just trying to flax lyrical (see what I did there!)
As for the right to roam, I stuck to the edge of the field and had a wide angle lens and telephoto so would not have cuased any upset.
Glad I went on Monday. The weather is not conducive now.

I doubt many farmers would have an issue unless you were being an inconsiderate twit!
Ie, walking around headlands to access locations, rather than flattening crops, avoiding livestock, etc... imagine that it's your land, those are your animals/crops, and consider how you would want it to be treated.
If you see a farmer, then head right to them and ask, don't ignore them.
I guess you'll always get a farmer who goes ape s
t at the mere sign of someone off a foot path, but you have to take those people as you meet them.
Nice pictures btw
