Im currently in the middle of replacing all of my dials for a new Spa dash, All is going well i just have two lights to wire up now, oil pressure and Mil light.

Question 1 is Does the MIL Light come on when the ignition is turned on?

Question 2 is If i pull the water temperature sender clip off will this turn the MIL lamp on so I can test it, if not what can i disconnect to throw up an error?

Cheers

1) Yes it should do.

2) Throttle pot while the engine is running should do it.

Removing the plug for the air temp sensor also illuminates the MIL.. if you don't want to mess with the t-pots

Are you replacing the temp, oil pressure, clock and fuel gauges?
Or are you going further eg speedo etc?

That would be better than the t-pot one . I couldn't remember if the temp sender did light the MIL and was sure the t-pot did. Go for the temp sender.

It gave me a scare a few weeks back.. was cleaning up the plug for one of the fans, started the car and the MIL light stayed on frown Then realised it was because of the air temp sensor not being plugged in! lol

Hi Gazza, yes i am replacing the whole lot, my water guage broke ages ago so i bought a cheap one to see me through. I was looking at digi dashes but didnt think they were very inkeeping with the tvr so i found this on ebay
http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/design/dashsystem/
absolute bargain, i had to buy a new oil filter housing to allow a take off for the oil temp, the oil pressure fits where the old feed to the guage is and the water fits where the old water seder was. I had to get a bracket made up to replace the old speedo sensor but all seems to work well so far and what i love most is the fact that when you turn the ignition on the speedo and rev counter do a warm up sequence like the new Audi`s

Ive had the car off the road for over a year now, what started as a brakepipe failing resulted in a (body on) chassis refurb.
The brief list so far
Fully pollybushed,
braided pipes,
tuscan pedal box,
new dials,
all the leather off of my dash and door cards and having them carbon dipped,
new wheels,
new calipers,
Every thing that i could renew i have...
new fuel pump,
adjustable tie rods,
330mm discs and rotors and the list goes on.

Whilst i had my engine out i took it to my tvr guy to do the tappets and timing chain, was sounding a little noisy and that resulted in...
New Cams,
The things the cams hit lol as they were all marked so they were changed
timing chain
Big end bearing and conrod bolts.
il put up a few pics of before and after
