I have had my Chimaera for a few months and when i bought it i had the itch to get some mods done. I myself am not skilled when it comes to mods on cars so i searched high and low for a TVR specialist in my neck of the woods in Berkshire. I finally found Wilton-Morgan automobile Engineering who are a TVR specialist. Absolutely brilliant people who have done an amazing job on my car. So i had the car fully serviced & replaced all the front upper and lower wishbones and some other bitsound the car needed some attention, other than that thankfully i bought a really well looked after Chimaera (pheeewwwww). I know a lot of you wont be happy with changing the vaneer dash from its original status but in my opinion it needed to be brought into this century. SO i had the vaneer replaced with Chianti leather(i think its one of the first leather dashes out there) and also added the TVR badge to finish it off, which i think looks great, also had the steering wheel and gaiters in the same colour. Added the leven stalks and all the aluminium trim round the air vents and cigarette ash trays. Whilst the dash was out the guys at Wilton - Morgan upgraded the instrument lights to LED!! Amazing. busy busy but i love it........

I know many have asked to see the pics when its finished, so sorry it's taken so long but here she is..................

Does look very good in that combo. Just trying to visualise it in Blue/Magnolia

I presume the bill was a total of all the work, but would you be prepared to put a guess around how much that handiwork cost?

Cheers Mark. Im not to sure but i will take a look at the receipt. I did swing by the garage when it was being done and i was amazed to how much work goes into getting the dash out. Really chuffed with Wilton-Morgan work.

clapHave to say that looks good.
I would have said don't do it before, but works with that colour combination. Like the TVR badge as well.

The TVR badge was a genius idea! its actually from a TVR key ring that was on sale on Fleabay for £5.95 the guys at Wilton-Morgan used a hacksaw so to speak and cut it off the metal attachment so it just left the TVR badge! very clever and really compliments the dash. I really love the leather dash it really sets it off....

That does look very nice I have to say.

I've got one of those small TVR Union Jack badges in gold in pretty much the same spot on my veneer dash, which looks good.

I have to say I may have to consider a leather dash if my veneer goes again, but mine is an earlier car with the black warning light strips; I'm not sure how you'd trim around these as they are an interference fit with the dash.

the thought behind the leather dash was to try something different that made it a little more elegant and not to in your face. cheers
