Currently toying with the idea of ‘refreshing’ the suspension on my 6RS. I have no reason to think anything is specifically wrong with whats there at the moment.

Car is standard, low mileage, absolutely mint and had a very easy/track free life. All the other main 'consumable' items have been replaced in the last year or so (rads, condensers, clutch, brakes etc), however as far as I am aware nothing major has ever been done to the suspension. Car is a keeper, which I want to be as perfect as possible and I am quite happy to spend money to keep it that way.

Car likely to do the very occasional track day (would be rude not too), but will mostly maintain it’s easy and low use life. In absolutely no rush, but current thinking would be to re-new all the bushes, change anything which looked worn/borderline and re-furb the shocks. However I do have a couple of questions:

• Who best to do the work, thinking the usual suspects in terms of specialists ie JZM, JAZ, PARR, CoG etc etc?
• Is it worth considering fitting any non-standard parts (ie toelinks, strut tops, arms, uprated bushes etc)?
• Rather than spending money on refurbing the standard shocks, would it be better to put the cash towards some aftermarket ones ie Motons, KW et)? (TBH: Unless it’s going to make a major difference or costs are very similar, which i doubt I would most likely stick with the standard ones anyway).

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I personally would go to CoG and do the bushes, arms, links and good geo.

then revamp the Billys, at around £100 per corner. Sure the KW's are better but not that much for the outlay, and Motons another step up and proper silly money.

The outcome will be very impressive, feel tighter, turn in better, and for a vehicle that does just a smidgen of TD's doffo not worth heavy outlay just to potter round on.

Have you fitted Cup Diff?? If not spend on that, much better outcome that spending on shocks.

Just me though.

I got all my bushes replaced with Powerflex items at CG and a full goem. Money well spent.
Sounds tho like you are pampering the car as my bushes were through to the metal and clonking like a demented clonking thing. I have the luxury of prev owner fitting Manthay spec KW3 and its a great setup, yes not the finest but not silly money either.
Personally if your car is a relative trackday virgin I would just do a Geom and drive it until you feel some wear.
Or just go out and upgrade for the hell of it
I have a Cup clutch avail if you want the ultimate on/off/stall experience !!
Good luck with whatever you do, its expensive fun .
