You may recall a home page article recently where PistonHeads announced a reader test of the new BMW 3-Series? Well the event is finally taking place at Rockingham this Thursday where 6 PHers will drive the car on road and track and will deliver their verdict to camera throughout the day, the end result being a BMW 3-Series microsite and PH home page article.

I have two spaces available due to previous winners being unable to attend and wanted to open it up to you guys. There are a few criteria you need to consider before putting your hand up:

We need drivers who fit into one of these categories

• Have considered a new 3-Series as a potential new car (for obvious reasons)
• Would never consider a BMW over an Audi, Merc (to see if the new car can change opinion)
• Is considering down-sizing from a sportier/ larger car but still wants driving excitment

You'll need to deliver a considered response so will need to understand this segment of car or have driven other 3-Series (or rivals) to offer a comparison/ verdict.

Terms and conditions do apply and yes, there is an age limit we can't control......

Drivers must hold a full UK licence
Drivers must be aged 25 and over
No track driving will take place until driver training has been completed
Helmets must be worn when on track
Normal track rules apply – bad driving will not be tolerated and you may be removed
The event will be filmed so we will ask you to speak to the camera

Itinerary is as follows:

Rockingham circuit.

5 cars are available as follows:

335i manual

320d manual x 3

320d auto

3 cars will be on track, 1 for static use and 1 for road use

Arrival from 07.30

08.00 – Breakfast served

08.15 – Quick intro from me

08.30 – Safety briefing

09.00 – BMW chap will talk us through the new car

09.00 – Familiarisation laps on track

09.15 – Track laps start

12.30 – Lunch

13.30 – Track opens

13.30 – Road drives commence (one driver at a time - We’ll take you out for a short road drive so you can evaluate the car under normal conditions too.)

17.00 – Track close and final filming (if needed)

This is not a free track day, but a proper test of a new car for PistonHeads and the wider world. Yup, considering I'm 24, and currently drive an e39. Given how the 3 and 5 have got bigger, a 3 series will be on the short list for the next car....
