I am time rich, cash poor.

£900+ for economy to Perth, via Dubai on Emirates.

Is there any cunning methods, ie more stop overs etc, to substantially reduce this - or just suck it up and have one stop over.

15 years back I flew to Perth, the cheapest (by a margin) flight was with Garuda. I found out why they were the cheapest. Must have been half a dozen stops en route and the same back including a 14hr stop over at Bali. Oh, and a bit fell off the wing!

If I was time rich and cash poor, would I do it again? Probably not hehe

I've been to Oz 6 or 7 times, and I've always used Kayak to find my flights. They seem to search pretty much everyone else and I think only once have I found anywhere else cheaper.

Also, make sure you always use the flexible dates option for +/- 3 days either side, you can often see a difference of a couple of hundred quid just for flying a couple of days earlier or later.

I did that several times in the first few months of last year, and TBH Emirates Cattle is not so bad - the downside I find is Dubai airport. Nowhere decent to eat / drink.

Don't get too hung up on the price of the flight.
Your wallet will be properly raped once you get there !! biggrin
I know what you mean re: Wallet violation with no lube.

$11 a pint when I was there last. Really shocking.

Still, it is my home town and I have to go and sort out a couple of things, so will have to put up with it.
