Hi All
I've noticed the clutch on my 4.0HC is on the way out
If poss, can someone let me know what my options are in terms of replacement and the sort of cost I'm looking at ?
Cheers
Graeme

I would just upgrade to a standard 500 spec clutch, speak to V8 developments or V8 tuner.

Having just done all the research and rang all the suppliers the best choice appeared to be.
AP clutch kit from Clever Trevor. It is the 500 clutch as this is all that is available now from AP.

Again rang round on that lowest £707 through to £1000.
I am in Sussex not Swindon, so called local to me.

I fitted an uprated Helix clutch kit to my 4.0HC & it's perfect.

Purchased from Rob Robertson at V8 Developments.

No more expensive than a standard 4 litre clutch & rated for modified 5 litre cars.

PS: I strongly recommend you take the opoortunity to lighten the existing flywheel.

The one fitted by TVR to the 4 litre cars appears to be nothing more than a SD1 flywheel.

No doubt this flywheel is excellent for pootling about in the heavy SD1 saloon car, but it has no place in a 1000 kg sports car.

It is in fact ridiculously heavy like something from an old Transit, you can easily machine 20% in weight out of the back of it with no issues whatsoever.

The result is an engine that revs like you would never thought possible, one of the best mods you can do IMHO & no negative effects.

If the gearbox is out, you would be mad not to.
