You've gotta love the wording in this ad. I partcularly like the line "The car has to be seen to appreciate it's condition."

At least I now know what kind of damage leads to Cat D classification.

One question though: if it's such a great car with so little damage, why doesn't the garage fix it up and sell it on? Maybe they think an enthusiast will be able to fix it up whilst ignoring the cost of their own labour? After all, that's the premise under which B&Q operate and it hasn't done them any harm.

Bell Hill garage specialise in breaking expensive sports cars - especially TVR. They dont do (to my knowledge) crash repairs..... so quite normal for them to be selling this on - take a look at their website, they do have lots of spares and parts, even whole cars for sale.....

Ever need that rare or hard to get hold of spare, which TVR will charge a fortune for? Well try Bell Hill....

P.S. There are a couple of other specialist breakers, but cant remember the names at the moment.!

Fibreon and Douglas Valley come to mind. I think Bell Hill are the biggest.

Way too much cash IMHO though. That car, straight would be worth 18k maximum privately. So, given that it's on the register, knock at least 25%. So, that'd be 18-4.5 = 13.5k maximum which leaves <3k to repair it.

For example, for 20k ono you could have this one...

Anyway, I have to agree with your comments there too. It would be a good project but the starting price is too high once you factor in the resale price of a healthy Cat D car.

To be honest, it doesn't look too bad, like it's gone into a hedgerow or something and been pulled out, literally, backwards.

If you could get the car for £9k, 4 or 5 to fix with new nosecone, you've got a bloody nice car for £14k.

a good example of how sexy those spiders look on the chim though. Mels griff looks good wit them in the flesh but havent seen such a good example of the spiders also suiting the chim. Shame about the waiting list for them...
