It seems each time my Cerb goes in for some work it comes out with a new rattle. After some recent attention, I now have a rattle that seems to be coming from the drivers side door/window, and one from behind the dash somewhere. They are driving me mad!

The dealer claims not to have been working in either area, but they sure as heck weren't there when I dropped off the car to them.

What do you lot do about mysterious rattles? Ignore or fix?

Cue a glut of " put the window down & floor it, what rattle ?" replies

You never hear schumacher moaning about the noise of his car

Mines just come back from the factory with a free passenger side window rattle thrown in as an extra so its not just the dealers . I'm just so glad to have it back working I haven't bothered looking yet

I guess I was expecting the "you're not pressing the fast pedal enough if you can hear the rattles" type of response, but I didn't expect silence.

Most, if not all, Cerb/TVR owners will currently have or recently have had one or more mysterious rattles - I just wondered what others do about them.

What do you say folks?

Not that it helps, but the few I have had, always seem to sort themselves out?

I tend not to bother with anything other than window / door rattles as these are the only one's I can fix. I definately would not like to get the dash off.

You could try the solution I used to have for my old rattley sierra dash.....3 or 4 very long self tappers and some luck not to hit anything important!

I tend to find the door and window rattles pretty easily fixed oncethe door is off. Ususally its nice and obvious where the rattles comming from.

For the dash and engine I tend to use a stethoscope. Most of the time you can rapidly zero into within a few cms of the noise by poking the tube around until the noise is at it loudest.

The rest is how much I hate it verses the hassle to fix it.
