I have two endorsements (sp30's) on my license that are now 3 and 4 yrs old. If i understand correctly, I have to declare these to insurance companies when i am looking for quotes but i don't have to declare them to employers when looking for jobs.

So what happens when an employer employ's me and then wants to put me on their insurance? Wouldn't they get done for non-disclosure?

Would they have to "put you on" the insurance?

Does it not work on the basis that the policy states that "anybody who is employed by ......... who has a full UK license and permission to drive the vehicle?"

But I wouldn't know smile

I know that a previous company has a rule that anyone could drive their cars who had 6 points or less.
If you had more than 6 points you had to have a chat to a man in HR about it.

I would guess that if the employer wanted/needed to know then they would ask,

I would further guess that you’d need to sign some sort of form before you drove the company car which said things about driving licence and points.

I run the fleet here at work, and we have to declare any points on any of our employees licences to our insurer.

To cover ourselves, I have to ask to see everybody's licence annually, and keep a copy on record.

If an employee provides false information or documentation, they're not covered, and face prosecution in the usual manner for driving without insurance - so it's in your best interest to make sure you are properly covered.

I declared my points to my insurer and they said they make no difference.

I declared my points to my mums insurer so i could be a named driver on her policy and they said they would not insure me at all!

That could possibly be due to my last car being stolen though..

There are a lot of variables it would seem.
