Odd one this, which I was only reminded of on a run yesterday.

The gear change on my 52 plate (so facelift) D2 gets stiff on a run. It's absolutely fine if it's used regularly, but if it's left in gear for a while it stays stiff (ooer) for the next few gear changes. I'm not sure how long it takes to stiffen, or exactly how many gear changes it takes to loosen, but even wiggling it in neutral is tough.

Anyone go any ideas.

Hmmm, no clues from the book. Any idea how often it's due?

There are no leaks, but IME that just means it's run out biggrin

If it doesn't leak it's probably run out hehe

Gearbox oil is every 24k miles or 2 years. it should have been done on the last B service.

Cheers. My "FSH" isn't that specific as an Indy did it.

Just spoken to a mechanic mate, apparently it's very common, could just need the bias plate fiddling with.

There is a plastic ball at the base of the gear lever that can wear and give this issue, especially if after a run. I've read a suggestion on the web, to drizzle some oil down the gear lever which could lube the ball. From memory its an easy enough replacement job.
