I remember reading on a thread somewhere (I have looked but couldn't find it) that TVR odometers have a habbit of jamming at 9999 miles.

I'm only about 500 miles short of that magic number, should it jam how does one fix it? Or is it going to be a pricey fix by a TVR garage?

1. Don't worry
2. Just keep driving; they generally unstick themselves.
3. You stand a chance of it happening every 1000 miles or so - see 1 above

Yes they jam. 9999, 19999, and 29999. Its a pricey fix by a TVR garage. But should be covered by your warranty.

OK cool...will have to see how it goes in the next couple of weeks then.

Hopefully it won't jam...but if it does, then I guess I'll get the cloest TVR garage to fix it under warrenty and bill my dealer.

Oh...just one more thing, WHY are they so temperamental?

Are they just old and cheap ones?

Not sure to be honest. They may just be crap. No wonder TVR have gone electronic for their latest models. I know they've had somehave software troubles at first but fundamentally the control guages being solid state has got to be more reliable long term...

Don't the early chimaera's have electronic ones? I know a friend's 4.3 has an electronic one.

I suggest making sure you're doing over 140mph when the odo clicks over to 10,000. I'm sure it won't stick then!
