Several years ago I paid 70 odd quid. It was sorted by the garage in the Swansea area so cannot help you with the latter bit.

I had a refurbed exchange one about six years ago for £25 which I swapped over no problem plus £25 for the wheel alignment. I expressed concern at the cheap price but was reassured that there would be no problems. He was correct there was no problem exchanging the duff refurbed one for another refurbed one 4 weeks later except the second wheel alignment wasn't free.

i've used these guys before http://www.power-steering.co.uk/ for a couple of cerbera steering racks about £100 i think, they did not a bad job and they worked fine but powder coat finish was a bit slap dash but there's not much choice with cerbera racks were TVR's own design and replacements don't exist.

i did hear there is a rally place in wales that specialise in steering racks and are very good but can't remember their name.

p.s. the website looks quite flash and a respectful looking company but in reality its a grime looking place round the back of deptford!! but they are fairly quick and know what they are doing.

They had 2 goes at fixing a leak on my PAS pump, and couldn't manage it.
