Slightly daft one this!

I don't move my driver's seat - well only I drive it. Dave Batty was probably the last person to move it - he's only half my height (although considerably more of a mechanic ).

It's stuck, but I can't work out why. I think it's only a lever moving a pin on one (the outside) runner. As the lever moves fine I can't work out why the seat isn't free on the runner.

What am I missing?

Only the one runner is required to lock most seats are the same a little WD40 and a bit of shuffeling is required to free it.

my seat runner mounts had moved and i had the same problem,
check to see if they are parallel to the seat runners.
Mine were loose and had turned at about 30 deg.
This caused the runners to missalign and cause the seat to be very tight when pulling it forward.

Just a thought

Thanks for your ideas. Have done the obvious of applying some WD40 and we'll see what happens!

Usually a sure sign of major chassis damage - I would not be able to sleep, if I'd just sold it on to an unsuspecting punter!!!

Yes...

Well thank you again to the first two responses. So no one else has had runners not running?

I still blame all the rest on the outfit what flogged it to me. As if anyone would trust a secondhand car salesman you'd think I'd have more sense!

Admitedly the pie-intake theory has some merit
