I dont post too much in here but i think that this should be public knowledge.
This has been an ongoing matter for some time now and now that all has come to an unhappy end the time has come for me to let the truth be known.
I will NEVER EVER buy another car from them again.
To cut a long story short in February i bought my dream car at 22 years of age , azure blue 111s from
On purchasing the car i was told that the car was hpi clear. I had done a little research into the cars and knew that they are open to track use / abuse so i asked whether the car had been in an accident. The reply yo me asking the question several times was NO .
After only two months of owning the car i contacted the last owner , by chance , to find any info out. To my horror i found from here that the car had been re chassied.
YES , THAT IS RIGHT RE CHASSIED, after asking whether it had been involved in an accident and given the answer NO .To make matters worse they knew 100% as they had the same problem with the previous owner.
Yes the car was hpi clear but it had obviously been in some kind of bang and repaired privately ?
So, now that the matter has been sorted , not to my pleasure and involving loss of money to myself they now HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE AGAIN !
So , will they tell the correct answer to the next purchaser if they ask?

Mod edit.
Sorry but that's a breach of the naming and shaming rules.

Hmmm, sorry to hear of your woes. Guess this is a lesson to us all - can one ever REALLY know the true provenance of a vehicle if someone is intent on not telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? I'd say that's a toughy.

Whilst I appreciate that the naming and shaming rules are sacred (Mustard and the mod have a point u know), I can't help but feel some empathy for this though.

Dealers have a bad enough rep anyway from hearsay and horror stories - I do have faith that, as with most things in life, the minority give a bad name to the majority (and I am not pointing the finger at ANYONE by saying this), however this kind of story does not instill much faith on the consumer side.

I wouldn't tarnish a whole brand due to one unhappy experience though - save it for the solicitors and try to get a happy conclusion.

Everytime I purchase I get a bit wiser - I've found things on el Beast that I missed when I bought it which p!ss me off a bit (and I thought I'd gone over it with a fine toothed comb!) but you know what, nothing that really upsets me, just things I can correct with a few quid but really should have noticed and haggled harder on.

Chalk it up to experience, if you really are aggrieved and aren't getting anywhere then you should talk to a solicitor and know your rights under the sale of goods act re: misrepresentation etc. This is not the place to start slandering (despite how much evidence you may have to the contrary).

Try not to let it get you down, be practical about it and hopefully all parties will come out of it fairly without resorting to a public slanging match.

Best of luck.

Very sorry i did not realise that i could not mention their name. Maybe it would be different if you are the person to buy this car next as it is for sale again at the same lotus dealer where i got it from

Tread carefully, go about it the right way and you will be better off for it mate - also you will retain your dignity that way and come out of it shiny side up. Like I said, the right way to do this is through official channels.

I'd be very careful about being any more specific and would consider your position re: the letter of the law. Slander is a dodgy one, that you could be liable for if someone gets p!ssy about this.

Would over 1k out of pocket be classed a ' shiny side up ' i think not.
When it comes down to it i am trying to make people aware of this vehicle and its history so that they dont have to go through what i have.
Put yourself in my shoes.
You would not be a happy chappy too

Atki,

maybe if you posted the registration number and just said that this car has been damaged and had a re-chassis, this might keep the moderators happy !!

You could possibly include it in the thread title.
