The weather isn't really great at the moment so leaving the roof off for a few days isn't really going to work I'm afraid. Although, it is off at every oppertunity.
There's an air-freshner type thing called Neutradol. As the name implies, it get's rid of smells rather than covering them up. A quick squirt around the car 5 minutes before you drive it may help. I think you can get it from most supermarkets.
