Hi

Quick Q

Missus has lost the key to her K11 Micra, we still have the old snapped in two spare key

It is the key with just an immobiliser, no buttons

Can I start the car by dismantling the binnacle and steering lock etc etc and having the immobiliser part will allow the electrickery to work

Anyone done it, any tips. Done a quick search but nothing exactly applicable to this situation frown

Have had to leave the car in a bit dodgy area for tonight and Nissan want £156 for a key but cant get one till Monday ???!!!!!

fking Hell !!!!!

Take the spare key to a locksmith or good motorfactors - I would be highly surprised if they couldn't make a replacement for a K11 for a couple of quid.

Get the broken key copied at a key cutter, Put the imobiliser bit from old key near steering column, should work?

A K11 has an immobliser

Bugger i'd better not lose the single key i have.

I'll just leave it in the ignition as i park in a pretty secure area at night

quick update

contacted a local key cutting place gave them the reg. and chassis number, they got the key code from Nissan cut a blank and swapped the chip from the old broken one to the new

Jobs a good un, all sorted for £60

Could have done it cheaper by taking a door lock barrel to him but after being on nights and having a load of other stuff to do I couldn't be arsed and stumped up

Hope it helps any one else and thanks for reading thumbup
