Chase marmalade vodka - any cocktail ideas?
Discussion
I've been given a bottle of this and to be honest am really not feeling the love - it tastes 'chemical' and sickly sweet.
However, since an old Estonian proverb says "rather a word from the Bible be lost, than a drop of alcohol be wasted", I am not about to throw it out.
Any ideas for cocktails I could use it in?

kill it with fruit.
try mixing with cranberry juice and a dash of peach schnapps. will be sweet, fruity and girly as anything but will probably slip down better than neat.
similarly, everything tastes nice with ginger beer / ginger ale. try with either and add a dash of bitters, squeeze of lemon.

Thanks for the ideas. I like the ginger / bitters approaches.
I may pimp up the ginger with some fresh squeezed ginger juice, as I think it will need to be very gingery indeed to match that sickly orange taste!
I really expected to like this as I love Santa Theresa orange liqueur, Cointreau and Triple Sec, but no - it's horrible. The standard Chase Potato Vodka is vile too.
I think the lesson here being that the English should stick to the gin and not piss around trying to make something that the Russians, Poles and Balts have had licked for centuries

The latest Chase disappointment: Chase rhubarb liqueur.
I specifically wanted a rhubarb liqueur to add to gin , and the Chase was all I could find.
No discernible rhubarb flavour, sickly sweet, and it tastes as though the roughest vodka has been used as the spirit base. Perhaps with a snifter of nail varnish remover thrown in.
Vile, just vile.
How Chase products attract their (alleged) accolades is beyond me. I think they're rubbish.

flavouring your own spirits is pretty easy. I had a couple of wonderful home-made flavoured tequilas in a bar last night.
One came from a large mason jar with cantaloupe slices and oak chips in it, the other was a Reposado tequila that had been infused with serrano chili peppers.
Both were delicious.
