After months of looking for the right car I think I am nearly there!

How easy is it to have the eurowatch bits transferred to me?
If the subscription has already been pre-paid for the year is it a simple case of transferring over or do I need to pay for a new subscription?
Also does anybody know if 'admin' team for the eurowatch people work over the weekend to arrange transfer to me?

Thanks
Max

Just did this for mine. There is a transfer of ownership form on the Tracker website. This needs to be filled in by the previous owner. Then you can call Eurowatch and either order a tag or (better option) get your Bluetooth enabled phone to pair with the Tracker device which they will talk you through. Grange did this for me.

Tracker is transferable but you need the change of ownership form completed

Thanks woollie, do you have the contact number for eurowatch by any chance?
I cannot see the transfer form on their website so may need to call them to email one over.

The car already has the fobs (which I have been told dont work very well) but I think I will go for the Bluetooth option. I just need to make sure they are open on the weekend, or evenings as I might be able to pick the car up tomorrow eve and would much rather get it all sorted out then

Cheers (and congrats on your purchase btw)

You are limited to 1(2?) registration changes a year so check that hasnt happened if you intend to put your own plate on it ...

What's the situation with fobs? The last two Astons I have had have not had fobs but my first one dd? I assume that if you don't have fobs/Bluetooth phone paired , then how can euro watch monitor your car? are there two systems?

If you don't have fobs or a Bluetooth phone paired then when you drive off the PATS light on the dash will stay red for a minute or so. After 100 metres Eurowatch will get an alert and then they will track the car and call/text/email you to state it is moving and see if you are in it.

So the car is still tracked. You need the fobs or Bluetooth so they know it is you in the car.

You may have to phone between 9 and 5 on a weekday. When ever I have phoned to re-pair the phone at the weekend they have been closed.

AFAIK you need to have something paired for the GPS to track you ?? Wouldn't really be an effective system if there was a permanently-paired mechanism in the car ??

I don't use fobs anymore - just the iphone4S smile

Nothing needs to be paired for the tracking to work. Tracker is always active as soon as you start the car. The pairing is only to tell the car that you are actually in it. For instance, last week I forgot to turn on the bluetooth on my designated paired phone. I got to the end of my road and then had a call and a text on my phone to say that my car was moving and to check whether I was aware and whether I was in it. Since I was I gave the centre the reset pin code, stopped the car, enabled bluetooth and then restarted.

The whole point of Tracker is that if the car moves and you haven't identified yourself as being in it (via fob or bluetoooth phone) then it is tracked and the details sent to the police if you do not respond to the call/text or you do respond and say that you are not in it. The spindly aerials on top of police cars are the Tracker arials.

Call the Eurowatch centre and they talk you through it. Or easier still go to your dealer and they can set it up as they have access to the system.

Makes sense Woollie - but begs the question as to why silverspeed didn't get a call everytime he drove off without possessing a fob smile

Beats me, unless there wasn't an active Tracker subscription on the car. When I got mine I had to get the transfer of ownership form signed and then the tracker set-up so for the first few days I didn't have an active Tracker subscription so the car wasn't being tracked and so no call or texts (and open to being stolen of course).
