Just has an(other) idea....
Discussion
Following on from FarmyardPants ' epic thread recently, I've just discovered that there's a town in southern France called Cerbère.
It's only 12 hours of some of the most celebrated wine regions that the country has to offer.
Whaddaya think ??

Just been reminded by Mrs CerberA that it was, in fact, SHE who lovingly discovered this fact.

You have forgot the return trip...via Lyons, Dijon, Reims (for photo shoot at the old GP circuit) and on to Spa.
Don,t forget Le Mans
done a trip similar to south of France took in all classic roads some of which are on you tube 2800 miles in 6 days was very very good only 2 minor problems brake switch melted and boot switch was eratic and guess waht every time we stoped for petrol it would not open other times it did
and if anyone says Cerberas breakdown all the time are mislead if anyone said that then would you drive to the south of france and do 5 track days 8 hours a day because that is more or less what we did and at track pace if you know what I meanWow ! Absolutely stunned by trhe posistive response ! I thought I was going to be alone on this one
julian 64 - my wife is the translator and although I prefer the idea of "Corrrrrr Beer !" she assures me that it's pronounced 'Sir Bear'. WTF - I'll contact the Mayor of the town before we set off and find out if he can line the town hall square with 1664
mart 63 - Brilliant info ! This is what we'll need to make part of the trip a photofest - Thanks !
DJR 7 and podrick - No-one has ever successfully accused me of being xenophobic. The more the merrier (in both senses of the word).
gruffalo - I actually was thinking of Aug 29 - Sep 7 but if this is too difficult then I'll go on my own this year to check things out and perhaps we can all agree on a date for next year (Rolls around on floor in laughter at the thought of the debate)
Itsallyellow - I am already envisualising the faces of the French Toll Booth attendants as The Screaming Yellow Zonker passes through the gate
Will have to factor-in GT Race Dates to the Tour Schedule Algorithm.
grahamn 'n' BnB- Unfortunately I am currently working to a School Timetable so Le Mans is out and there is no 'Classic' next year
Thanks once again for your posistive input and hopefully we can make it a Cerbs (and friends) do France spectacular. Should I contact Dulfords to cost-in a support crew or are we all brave enough to trust our own engineering.
Start planning to book those pre-tour services in now.
Keep the suggestions (and restrictions) coming in
