Track cars for sale
Discussion
Seen a full or partly prepped track car for sale which you think others should know about? Post it here!
This one caught my eye this morning.
VW Jetta 1.8 GTi 16V. Seems like it's had an applied approach taken to it and the seller is clearly open to offers. Mk2 Golfs are very popular and very competent; the Jetta-factor could make this quite a bargain (in fact, I prefer the Jetta silhouette to the Golf!)

Yep - that would lead you to a few of the many track cars listed for sale all over the internet. Wouldn't forums be boring if all they did was link people to reading other sites though?and here for Track Only Trackday cars http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?p=1&...

I like Jettas
My first near death experience at the Ring was in one.
Hmmm, first car I ever did the ring in was in a mk1 Jetta GLi. Cost me 300 quid - or there abouts. Was back in the early 90s when it was still a cheap weekend away. Did 3 trips in that car, the 3rd one was it's last.......... My first near death experience at the Ring was in one.
Don't know what suspension he's using, but that body roll doesn't look great. Not sure how he has combined the rollcage with keeping the sunroof either; wonder if the cage is MSA-compliant?
Nicely finished car, otherwise, if you fancy a bit of GTR-looky-likey track presence. Another one, sadly, which will struggle to meet the asking price though.

Lordy that 328 is not just vastly overpriced, but really is particually foul, hardly a suprise its been for sale for a long while.
The Jetta, that looks like an ABF 2.0 to me, rather than the stock 1.8 k jet he suggested, again overpriced but on paper could be a good call at a lower price tag.

This got me thinking, if I want to sell my car should I sell in track car or normal classified section?
Got mk3 mx5 2l sport which has all the usual toys, fsh, excellent condition, low miles for yr etc etc & looks standard (sleeper)
On the other hand it has spent the last three yrs going to Roddisons Motorsport (Max5 series winner past two yrs) for various upgrades etc.
As such is a very capable track car able to hold it's own against the full on mx5 racers.
So which section would you choose?

I'd put it in the regular section. I think it's where most 5 buyers would head and you will, I'm sure, attract one greedy for your added goodies.Got mk3 mx5 2l sport which has all the usual toys, fsh, excellent condition, low miles for yr etc etc & looks standard (sleeper)

Word it such that it 'could' be a great track car and you won't put off those buyers who are wary of former track slags and just want a 'fast road' car.
