Will be fine. Plenty of room. I have had bigger mates than you drive one. Get a drive and see if YOU feel comfortable.

Being tall is more of a problem. Are you lanky as well as fat ??

I don't know why you don't just ask the guy directly! hehe

A 38inch waist will be fine based on close personal experience. wink

If you take foam out of the Mk1's seat (20 minute job) it really improves the space. You sit much lower and further back in the seat.

You should have no problem.

I reckon if you are under 6ft then you are good to keep over eating until you are 46" waist, then you might have issues shutting the door.

Since when was a 38 inch waist fat?

You'll be fine.

Odd, my 6ft 2 friend sits slumped in his. 6ft 4 friends find it akward...

38" Waist usually fat IMO (especially for 5ft 10 and under). Usually largest waist size in shops too...

My 6'4" 22 stone mate drove my old Mk1 once. He was almost looking out OVER the windscreen! Very comical to see! He has a long body and a very muscular build though - if he was lean he still wouldn't be under about 18 stone so really it's just a case of trying one to see how well you fit wink

Exactly, some 6ft 4 people with very short bodys and legs and massive ankles perhaps?!

I have 35" inside leg. I have no troubles what so ever.

Yep, well as I said, my 6ft 2 friend who owns one finds he 'slouches' a little and people any taller struggle as PAX...

Perhaps you have a very small body and long forehead with your eyes quite low? hehe

I am 6'3" and tall in the back. I just fit in my Mk1 with well worn cloth seats. Tried a much newer Mk2.5 with leather seats for size and found it extremely cramped with the hard top on.

My 38" waist poses no problems as far as driving the standard Mk1 is concerned, although aftermarket bucket seats are somewhat "snug".

My 6ft8 friend went for a ride in my mk1 once. He WAS looking over the windscreen! Very comical indeed smile
