I was having a look around at the Vantage S online and I must say, the Alcantara steering wheel looks like a wonder to behold.

Is there any way I could get my hands on such a wheel for my '05 DB9? It looks very similar in the photos I've seen and has the right cruise control buttons etc.

Or is this a lost cause?

Like Tony says, just get your own wheel re-covered - although you lose your car for 3-4 days!

Cost about £500 probably?

How timely...!!
I had this fitted yesterday... smile

Izzy at info@nexonmotors.com will custom build you a wheel to your own spec, based on an original Aston Martin wheel.

Do you need to send yours in..? Can they reduce the overall diamter? Marcos has a 12" wheel and I like that, though I realise it'd be impractical in a gaint GT car with an airbag and cruise controls smile

They have some cores which they work on and then you return your old one to them.
On mine they flattened the bottom, increased the grips by 4mm at 10 and 2 and recovered it in Carbon and suede. There's also 'bumps' on the back for grip. The telephone button surround is also carbon covered. It's a work of art smile

However, it's a standard Aston wheel to begin with and the airbag unit may restrict how much the diameter can be reduced.
E-mail Izzy, he'll be able to advise.

Anyway, you've only just done your wheel....

I have a very short span of satisfaction... it was never more than a temporary fix, would love the increased shaping of the wheel rim! I love that nubuck leather Sarah M has used to would have to per-suede (eh, see what I did there?) her to let me have some more.

Or for your mate Izzy - who is apparently a boy with a girl's name? - to send the wheel uncovered and then have her trimmer do it again!

Can we get some pics please.
I like the sound of this.

On an early vantage, is it possible to buy upgraded seats? Perhaps DBS seats?

There's a picture of my new wheel above and on the 'Another bespoke interior' thread.

I'm sure you could replace the seats on an early Vantage - at a price!!
The normal Sports seats are the same on each model from 2007 onwards. The Lightweight Sports seats are a lot more expensive! It may be possible to find a pair on a car that is being dismantled. eBay sometimes have them.

There are some far better pictures of my new wheel to be found here...

I have no connection to this company but I'm impressed with their work and other finishes are possible.
