Pakistan plane crash
Discussion
Aircraft is AP-BKD - a Boeing 737-236 first flown in February 1980 - so 32 years old.
With a Boeing customer number of 36, this shows it was originally built for British Airways.
A quick search reveals this to be be the former BA 737 G-BGDD.
I am pretty sure that some PHers may well have flown on this aircraft.
Looking back at my old plane spotter logs, I noted this aircraft at Dublin on 1 June 1985.

I used to maintain it at BA. They were quite good kites then but did take a lot of maintaining. With a Boeing customer number of 36, this shows it was originally built for British Airways.

I'm sure BA took very good care of it. God knows how well it's been looked after in the 17 years since they sold it though.
My hunch is that this will turn out to be a weather related and piloting standards related accident.
Quite likely although I can't imagine that it has been looked after very well since then. Some of the old 732s were sold very cheaply to operators in these emerging 3rd world countries. My hunch is that this will turn out to be a weather related and piloting standards related accident.
It's quite a strange feeling to see something you worked on in pieces with so many fatalities.
