Hi guys,

Thinking of getting back into some reasonably priced pork. What's the thinking on a top notch 986 550 vs an early high-ish miles 987 3.2?

Cheers in advance

Its a very tough one that! At that age id be happy with either and buy the car in the best condition. I had a 986 550 and thought it was brill and actually a much better drive than the first 987 but the 987 is very pretty IMO hence the tough choice

....Just put a deposit on a 30,000 mile 550 Anniversay just yesterday. Looked at a fair few 986 Boxsters and drove a lot of cars, But the Anniversay was a much better drive.
Just got to wait till the seller has all the documents back from doing a reg number change and then it all mine. I carnt wait!!

Assuming it's a standard spec 986 550 (Cocoa hood & leather, console delete and bi-colour wheels) I would go 550.

They're sweet little cars and look great. I know the 987 is a newer & more modern but I never got on with the aesthetics of the Gen I model.
