Hello
Having sold my 996 recently I am on the look out for my next dail driver.

I have seen this on e-bay and to be honest it has been relisted at least 3 times:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-PORSCHE-911-TARGA-T...

The company selling it have the most simple business model; they buy all their cars from their local BCA or Manheim and put the car immediately on e-bay with no-reserve.
Quite often the pictures they use for a specific car are actually taken at the auction with the info stickers in the window. I e-mailed them regarding a car a year or so ago and have a brief discussion regarding this business model and like most things they reported they win on some, they loose on some.

Ok, the Targa; to me it looks a bit tired or is that just me?
The drivers seat bolster looks worn for a 70k mile car and some of the interior looks a bit past its best; again just me?

The Targa roof does not work: is there one motor that drives these? or could it be expensive/many options of parts that have failed?

On the plus side it will be cheap and it did have a new engine. Would this mean that it will not suffer with an IMS issue?

Sorry for so many questions.

Cheers

I may be wring but I'm not sure if the engine will have the most up to date IMS mod being changed in 05?

I'd also question the alloys in conjunction with paintwork-they're boxster alloys aren't they? May be nothing in it but worth checking...

Targa roof could be a minefield but if the price is right.....

As a daily snotter, you've got to say that it may not be too bad at all.

Car adverts, a picture can tell a thousand lies so get it inspected.

If it is their company policy not to rectify issues, why have they gone to the trouble of having the bumper and wheels done?
My guess is that they have had the targa roof checked and it's going to cost a packet to fix.

targa roof is expensive to fix, and if it has to be removed the windscreen has to come out, I hate to think of the labour

I'd rather pay more for a working one

Thanks for the advice.

I am going to look elsewhere.
I had the same thoughts regarding them stating they do not fix faults but then they did the wheels and paint.

Thanks to all
