Can anybody on PH tell me if you can mix Mobil 1
0-40 with others like 10-40 or does it have to be used seperatley!!

Halfwits are selling 0-40 at reduced price.

only do this if you have to, its better to keep to the same grade.

Shame your not using a SP6 engine, as thats what they run!

Hmm, I also thought that the Speed 6 used 0-40 but just been advised by a well respected independent who looks after our Griff & Tamora that that oil is too thin.

I always use 10-40/50 in the Griff but we used to put 0-40 in the Tamora.

It may of course be conincidence that Mobil *used* to sponsor the Tuscan Challenge. What does the manual say for those owners of more recent cars?

I wouldn't put 0w-40 in a car with a RV8 engine. It's like bat's piss! Halfrauds also sell Mobil 1 Copetition 15w-50 which is much better. So, it's more expensive - nowhere near the cost of an engine rebuild!

BTW - handbook says Mobil 1 5w-50 but I don't think anybody recommends it.

Agree with RV8 - needs a thicker oil. What suprised me was being reliably told that the Speed 6 needs a higher viscosity than stated, i.e. not 0-40.

What happened when you put bats piss in your chimps sump then? Did you get a radar detector for free? And how on earth did you manage to collect so much of it

it would be nice to know the facts on what grade is best in the s6 but I suspect few know. some people doubt even fully synthetic is the way to go...

donatien - it was just a comparison on viscocity. I haven't actually filled the sump with it. (How many bats would it take?)
