Taking the TVR plunge
Discussion
Dear TVR owners, I am seriously looking at taking the plunge and entering the TVR owners club. I am torn between 3 models for different reasons. I really like the Griffith, Tuscan and T350t. I have been looking and reading for some 18 months but I am still somewhat perplexed on what to go for. Has any one out there owned all 3, if so please could you give me some pros/cons etc for each one. I want to use the car for weekends, not fussed about track days. Are any of these 3 better suited for the wife to drive (on some very odd occasions I hasten to add!) Thanks in anticipation.
if you are able to get along to Chatsworth house on the 29th april, you will be able to see practically every model of tvr made, and chat to owners about their cars.
I have had a griffith and a t350, a t350 might more more suitable for the wife to drive now and again, the griff can be heavy on the steering and the clutch, but its all down to personal preferance, do you like the roof off, interior and exterior styling, the v8 burble or the speed 6 scream?
have fun searching, maybe your budget will narrow down your choice, a t350 could be the most expensive, but griff prices are on the rise as well.

Thanks guys. Clive, I am after something which you can at least take some of the roof off, whether its a targa, full convertible or the T350t roof panels. Engine wise, the sound of both the V8 and speed six is awesome in different ways. Having read posts etc on Pistonheads I have a feeling that the speed 6 engine requires a bit more TLC and money where as the V8 is a bit more bullet proof??
Ant, I live in North West, you mention a griff for sale possibly near to me?? Is it a 500?

Its in the classifieds.........stoke on trent
I had the same choice and opted for a Tuscan, because I love the looks and the noise
Plus its a coupe in winter and a convertible in the summer.
Not sure where in the country you are, but if you are anywhere near Gloucestershire you are welcome to have a look at mine. It is for sale at the moment, but if you just want to look to get a a feel for Tuscans then you are welcome (I would make the same offer whether the car was for sale or not, so there is not hidden agenda)
