Hi ,
I have just brought a chimaera which is a non runner. I have replaced the fusebox as it was under water. Now I have come across 3 more relays behind the fusebox, I assume two of these are for the fuel pump. The third one does not have a relay in it, does anyone know what this relay is for?

I think this is meant to be empty, people use it to connect the hot start mod kit

Was the ECU also under water?

I dont think the ecu was water, but cant be 100% sure. I think the imobiliser may be at fault

Have you pulled the connector off of the ECU?

Water will be quite evident inside if it has become submerged. There are two screws on the connector behind the rubber seal (if fitted) so you can open it up and have a good look inside. If its got into the connector then chances are it's in the ECU.

The two fitted relays are for the fuel pump and ECU, they cost shirt buttons and you can pick them up from any half decent motor factors. The other vacant plug remains so.

I'd change these relays anyway as they could possibly be referred to as 'consumables' wink
