Well I picked up the Chim yesterday and I have to say she is BEAUTIFUL. Drives impeccably and beautifully presented by Bespoke Performance. A bit sad though because I had to leave the Cobra replica behind - but we must all move on!

Looking forward to meeting some of you soon - but my first techie question already - is the handbrake actually supposed to WORK!!!

congrats on your new car, handbrakes, well they are not very good on tvr`s, try foot on the brake when you apply the handbrake, sometimes gives a little more bite.

In my experience, it is the last click that matters, see of you have just one more there...

Cobra replica i always lusted after when i was a kid,but a Chim will be a worthy replacement.
Handbrakes as said are poor, applying foot brake first does help and maybe enough to get another click out of the lever to hold the car, otherwise you might need to get to the adjuster and have a play.

Hope you enjoy your new purchase, nice day to go out for a run (was going out myself but mines playing up!) get the roof off and listen to the V8 rumble along, but i guess you know the feeling from that great looking Cobra you had.
I think the Chimeara will be more relaxing to drive any distance though, maybe we can meet up sometime to exchange notes, mail me if you wish.

put in in gear too - you then have the added bonus of the back wheels being locked just in the case the hand brake slips

Caution! Yes, the handbrake does work, but generally only for 5 mins until the brakes cool off. Leave it hot on a hill with the handbrake firmly on, and you'll come back and find it somewhere else.

Well cleaned, lubed and adjusted helps a lot, lastly if there is any incline I'm parking on it's two hands I used to get the last click

You are so right - I loved the Cobra but she was hard work. Took the Chim out this morning and it was just so much more relaxed but still with that fabulous RV8 soundtrack.

Would be good to meet up - whereabouts in Herts are you?

Leave it in gear, do NOT trust the handbrake!
I speak from experience frown (on a Griff but essentially the same)

I live in Stevenage so not far from you, just need to sort out the Griff that's started cutting out and losing the idle today!

I can relate to this - I built a Cobra Rep a few years ago, once it was finished it to exactly as I wanted it I had mixed but realistic feelings about WTF I was going to use it for .... then I sold it & put the proceedings towards my Griff. Never looked back, well not until just now anyway hehe
