what size battery?
Discussion
morning guys, as the title says, what size battery do i need for my chim? its a 94 car, its normally hooked up to an accumate but this week was at str8six & went flat. its over 5 years old anyway so due a change. i cant get to the car today to get the old one out & was going to order one tomorrow. any recomendations? thanks in advance.
Hi, I recently went for a Platinum 096 type (just fits battery box)
with 750 amp cranking power. was £100 from local STS. I think
original fitment was 072 type, 65AH, 630CCA. The terminals may
be opposite sides on 096 type, but the leads will reach or spin the
batt 180degr which puts them at the rear. Hope this helps.

An Odyssey PC1500 fits the original battery box perfectly:
Length: 275.6 mm
Width: 171.7 mm
Height: 198.6 mm
Grunty too
Pulse Hot Cranking Amps: 1500 (For 5 seconds)
Cold Cranking Amps: 850
Hot Cranking Amps: 1250
Marine Cranking Amps: 1050

Got an Odyssey PC925 - man enough for the job, can leave the car for at least 2 weeks even though I don't have power at the underground parking, so if you can plug in a trickle charger you won't have any problems at all.
Advanrages:
3 kg lighter than the smaller of the OE fit batteries
The ECU fits next to it rather than dangling in front of the battery on the end of its loom
People with legs can now sit comfortably on the passenger side
Oh, and it's a dry battery so can't spill any battery acid over the fuseboard, ECU or the passenger (in the event of a crash).
Win-win-win-win!

If they fit then this is a bargain with 750 amp cranking power. was £100 from local STS. I think
